The fungi kingdom and the person that I admire

I admire my teacher, Marcela Esterio, a lot. She is an agricultural engineer specialized in phytopathology who has taught me classes on plant health fundamentals and integrated pest and disease management. I admire her because she is highly recognized in her field, especially in the etiology of fungi such as Botrytis spp. in fruit trees and vines, which is something that I find very interesting.

She has published studies on grapevine pathologies and has received awards for her work, as well as projects like "Rapid Diagnosis of Botrytis spp. Mutations Associated with Resistance to Hydroxyanilides and Carboxamides through qPCR-HRM," which she is currently leading.

Marcela Esterio is the creator of the molecular phytopathology laboratory and is now the responsible academic for it. Her main research areas focus on the etiology and management of pests and diseases in fruit trees and vines. She served as the president of the Sociedad Chilena de Fitopatología from 2009 to 2012. She has been recognized by the Colegio de Ingenieros Agrónomos de Chile for her contributions to the research and management of Botrytis.

I don't want to use her image without permission, and I also don't want her to know what I've written because I feel embarrassed. So, I'll share a very cute kitten picture that I found on the internet instead, look at him, he's gorgeous.
